Waipio Valley Jigsaw Puzzle

Waipio Valley Jigsaw Puzzle

Imagine lava carving a canyon 2,000 feet deep, 6 miles long, and a mile wide at its open end. That is how the Waipio Valley, on the Big Island of Hawaii, was formed. Today, the steep walls are covered with lush tropical foliage and waterfalls, as shown in this jigsaw puzzle, including majestic Hi’ilawe, with a sheer drop of over 1,000 feet. The hundreds of waterfalls feed into a river that runs the length of the valley floor to the black sand beaches that form the canyon’s mouth on the edge of the Pacific.  With hiking trails, tours by horseback and wagon, and scenic lookouts along the way, this is not to be missed.
