A former bookshop in Brussels, Belgium. The three official languages of the country are Dutch, French, and German, but there are a number of other languages (sometimes considered dialects) that are used in smaller portions of the population in other regions. For instance, Walloon is spoken in Wallonia in southern Belgium. Although it has a rich history in literature and spoken language, it is in decline and mostly spoken by the older population. Due to immigration, there is also a version of Walloon spoken in the United States in Wisconsin, although it is believed to have fewer than 50 speakers left, as of 2021.
