Normandy Beach Jigsaw Puzzle

Normandy Beach Jigsaw Puzzle

The lovely serenity of this watercolor jigsaw puzzle of the little town of Normandy, France belies the powerful history of this place. Not once but twice this little strip of coastal beach and cliffs determined the fate of the world. The first was in 1066, when William, Duke of Normandy set out from there to conquer England. The second was the D-Day invasion of June 6, 1944, when the Allies stormed German fortifications to gain the toehold they needed to begin turning the war in their favor. From the museum that exhibits the famous Bayeaux tapestry to Omaha Beach to Mont Saint-Michel floating on its island, one cannot set foot anywhere in Normandy without treading on history.
