National Donut Day Jigsaw Puzzle

In honor of National Donut Day today, many shops offer free donuts. But did you know the day is about more than just a sweet treat? It was established to honor the Salvation Army women volunteers who served donuts to enlisted men in World War I. They came to be known as “Donut Lassies”. Later, the tradition was carried on by the American Red Cross, and those women with donuts were often called “Donut Dollies”.
