Narrowboats on a peaceful canal in the village of Parbold in West Lancashire, England. The canal system in England was mostly built around 1760-1820, driven by the Industrial Revolution. Canal living has grown in popularity for leisure and alternative living over the years and there are around 8,500 narrowboats registered as full-time residences.
