The sun sets over El Golfo in Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands in Spain. Separated from the sea by the sand, a natural green lagoon sits in a volcanic crater and gets its color from algae and sulfur. Lanzarote is especially known for volcanoes. There are 25 identified volcanoes in Timanfaya National Park alone. The last eruption was in 1824 and there is currently only one active volcano on the island.
