A vintage photochrom of Princes Street in Edinburgh, Scotland. Produced sometime around 1890-1900, this view faces the Scott Monument and Princes Street Gardens. A photochrom was a way to efficiently colorize a print made by transferring a black-and-white photograph onto lithographic plates. The technology meant that prints could easily be mass-produced and sold at tourist sites and ordered through the mail.
