Best Farm in Frederick, Maryland was a battlefield during the Civil War. Both Confederate and Union soldiers occupied the farm at different times due to its strategic location. The farm was owned by the Trail family from 1852 through 1993, although it was leased to the Best family during much of that period, including the Civil War years. The farm is 274 acres and now belongs to the National Park Service as part of Monocacy National Battlefield.
