Pheasant Jigsaw Puzzle

Pheasant Jigsaw Puzzle

Ironically, the blue eared pheasant featured in this jigsaw puzzle does not have visible ears, nor are they blue. The so-called “ears” are cream-colored tufts that begin under the chin and grow up over the ears on either side and extend above the head, looking a bit like a pair of lightning bolts. Because the bird’s body is bluish-gray, with black feathers atop the head, a pale beak, and brilliant red markings on the face, most people who see one are not even aware they are seeing a pheasant. This beautiful bird can be domesticated, and with time and patience on your part, will eat trustingly out of your hand.
